We're eight points clear of the relegation zone, and some of the teams below us only have nine games to play. That is not a comfortable position to be in, but we are not yet in the thick of a relegation battle. You would expect Newcastle to take the points against Scunny, which takes away one of their games in hand. 53 points should guarantee safety, so 8 points from our remaining nine matches will be enough (and possibly less will do). A relegation battle is when you are around the bottom three and need to get more points than your close rivals to have any chance of survival. Thankfully we're not in that position, and will only get into that position if, say, we were to lose our next two or three games. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
