"The Tories and Lib Dems welcomed the cider move but Labour say it will be re-introduced if they are re-elected."

So not so much dropped as benched.

A vote for Dawn = a vote for more expensive Cider.

....& in the interests of balance....

A vote for Liam = a vote against City's new Stadium.

Anyone would think politicians have it in for us as a club or something ;)

Dawn and Liam are in different constituencies, of course.

The Tory candidate for Bristol South is Mark Lloyd Davies. Very nice guy have met him on a number of occasions.

Good News for all you cider drinkers!

My link

How the hell can Labour claim to be a working man's political party when they tax zider ????!!!! Zider is the traditional drink of the farm labourer - you can't get more working class than that and the Labour Party want to tax it out of our price range and give the money to the enemy alien organisation that is the European Union. Not just Labour but all Lib-Lab-Con politicians are unelectable by right minded English patriots for this reason.

"Tory" and "very nice", words seldom seen in statements about Conservatives!

The Conservatives are also the twerps that took us into the European Union (previously the EEC). VAT was introduced in the early 1970's by the Conservatives to fund our EEC membership. Let's get the hell out of the European Union and take the 17.5 % VAT tax off zider and everything else. :winner_third_h4h::englandsmile4wf:

2p increase per pint RG. Doubt it's out of peoples' price ranges as a result of a 2p increase per pint.

Shameless electioneering by Liberals and Tories here. It'll be brought back by any party immediately after the election, because it's actually a small increase.

I used to drink at the Coach and Horses pub in Clifton - circa 1982 - and zider was 49p a pint. Lovely stuff it were too. :winner_third_h4h:

Zider now is around £2.50 per pint - no way should zider be over 5 times the price it was in 1982.

Were Labour worried that the 'Cider' tax would be Gordon Brown's poll tax ?!

Economou, excellent political comment. Personally, I really can't believe how stupid the Labour Party are as a national government. There are zider drinkers that couldn't give a damn about politics and voting but they've all now been galvanized to vote against the Labour party at the election because Labour have promised to increase tax on zider if re-elected !!!!! Never underestimate the political power of good zider. :farmer:

When you take into account the effect that cider has on your vision, it's very hit and miss where your average cider monkey will put his X!
