Going back as long as I can remember there are always intelligent sounding posters on here claiming to have inside info about a player transfer, internal fight, or potential manager, and stating their case as gospel. These threads usually generate 4 or 5 pages of intense debate before the initial substance was exposed as a fraud! Sometimes these threads even lay waste to a poster's career on the world of OTIB! So it seems that the Coppell thread is the most recent, which leads me to think it could all be just a vicious lie, designed to excite us; but will ultimately just leave us all bitter and twisted! Rumours come from anywhere and everywhere: people making them up to some bloke told them at a pub to a source who is apparently close to the club (maybe lives near). Its purely an investment as he, like many other players and managers like to invest in the property market. Look at yessir, he had genuine info but a completely biased viewpoint so you couldn't entirely trust what he said and he was the manager's brother... Well, probably three actually because Im sure that Colin Sextone and Doug Harman would also be in the loop on any decision that Steve Lansdown is planning on making - and Im sure they would have a say in any major decision like who the new manager is. Its very rare/unlikely that any of those would post any info they know on this forum as it could put their jobs at risk leaking info. So anyone on here claiming to have direct info is either risking their job by sharing it or they are just taking educated guesses and hoping they are right! For example, I posted a 'dirt sheet' of all Gary Johnson's misdemeanors in relation to Basso, Sproule, Hartley, Blackman and Iriekpen. It lasted less than 24 hours because it was TRUE. Those rumours that hang around on the forum for weeks/months are laughable BS, but the ones that are taken down faster than the world trade centre, are solid gold truth.
