peanut
Very close for 2nd in Leauge One going in to the last game of the season next weekend. If the gas win 1-0 at Leeds, and Millwall draw 2-2 with Swindon, Leeds and Millwall will both have 83 pts, a GD of 31 and a GS of 75. As long as Charlton didnt win, this would lead to a play-off match between Leeds and Millwall on neutral terratory, with the winner getting promoted and the loser comming 3rd and taking part in the actual playoffs. Who would want to host a one-off promotion decider between those two teams?

WellRedPhil
Would be a very interesting match! Another playoff final of sorts. But I agree that I an't see Rovers getting anything at Leeds let alone a win, their away form is dreadful!
mark whitehouse
I think youll find it wont be a play off, it will be down to more wins...so me thinks with Leeds 24 and Milwall 23 it will be Leeds that scrape through... Correct me if im wrong , tho and another fixture may be on the cards. I doubt it tho...

If two or more teams finish level on points the team with the better goal difference will finish higher.
If two or more teams have the same points and the same goal difference, the team which has scored the higher number of goals will finish higher.
If two or more teams finish level on points, goal difference and goals scored at the end of the season and the championship, a promotion place, play-off place or relegation place is at stake they will then play off to decide who finishes higher.
If two or more teams are level before the end of the season on points, goal difference and goals scored, then alphabetical order will determine the team finishing higher. Three points shall be awarded for each League Match won. One point will be awarded to each Club for a drawn match. If two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points their position in the Division shall be determined on goal difference, that is to say, the difference between the total number of goals scored by and against a Club in League Matches in that Season, and the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club with the highest goal difference. If any two or more Clubs have scored the same number of points and have the same goal difference the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club having scored the most goals in League Matches in that Season. If two or more Clubs have the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored the highest placed Club shall be determined by the respective League records against each other, taking into account in order of precedence, points gained, goal difference and goals scored. If the above procedures do not separate the Clubs, then the Clubs concerned shall play off a deciding League Match or Matches under arrangements approved by the Board on a neutral ground. These provisions shall determine the ranking of Clubs in their respective Divisions.

I am pretty sure this happened last season with Cardiff and Preston but Preston won something like 10-1 over both games!
