Port Said Red
When Albert Adomah signed I got to wondering who was the last Bristol City player to be called Albert (sad I know). I expected it to be a little while back, but was surprised to find that (as far as I can tell) there has only been one other Albert. Albert William Flewitt played for City for one season 1899-1900, the season that Bedminster FC merged with Bristol City. I did find a Bert Hawkins who played in the 1949-1950 season but he turned out to be a Bertram. Quite a claim really, unless of course any of you stattos out there know better? Port Said Red
How about Bert Tindall, Big John's strike partner in the late fifties? Was he an Albert though? Albert Keating 20s & 30s? Sounds plausible, I must have missed him........ Definitely didn't see him play
