Admin phantom Posted May 18, 2004 Admin Report Share Posted May 18, 2004 After the debate about the number of fans we didn't take to Hartlepool on Saturday, I am more than surprised that our game is yet a sell out, or is it? According to the Hartlepool site it was a "sell out" for home fans yesterday http://www.hartlepoolunited.premiumtv.co.u...~525558,00.html (Interesting they think there will be over 21,000 in the ground) Whilst at the same time we were only just declaring the game "all ticket" !! http://www.bcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...~525572,00.html It was mentioned earlier about the missing Sunderland fans last night, but where are all the home fans, surely we should have sold out days ago ! Is this another backlash from the game being live on TV, that local fans can't even travel down the road to see the game, or are people staying away for the unexciting prospect of the UEFA cup final on BBC2? PhatWill
If we don't sell out it'll be nothing short of an utter embarrassment. Maybe the part-timers are saving their cash for Cardiff?
Strongbow Stu
I'm genuinely shocked about the lack of interest in tickets. Cant believe anyone would rather watch it on telly than be there. And yet i bet if we do get there amazingly enough they'll be 30,000+ queing for final tickets!
nickD
Theres a lot of exiles in my position - Having to work away from the westcountry all week (without access to a car etc) and so would prove damn near impossible to get there and back out of working hours. I'm gutted that I cant be there cos i've only missed 4 home games this season, and i'm student living 100+ miles away.
Percy Parrot
Colin S said only around 500 left so not too bad. Would be great to top 18,500. Disappointing if not. But remember 1997 vs Brentford- we only had about 15,
Cider Red Sam
I think last year vs Cardiff there was only 16000 odd, and thats a local derby. In my opinion that was poor. O yeah, and whoever mentioned earlier about part-timers saving their money for the final, I know someone who is doing exactly that!
Squeak
Even if we dont sell out, the important thing is to make the night one to remember. If we sing, shout, throw confetti and balloons, than the measly amount of seats that aren't sold will be more than made up for.
westoncider
The seats that are left are only individual seat so no groups can sit together.
Guest bcfcsols
The seats that are left are only individual seat so no groups can sit together. Thats good. I was getting genuinely embarrassed that we might not fill up. I'm shocked that people would prefer to watch the game at home, but I also think that the majority of fans (apart from the odd few you know who you are) do not have the right to call other fans part-timers depending on the distance they travel to away games.
