Esmond Million's Bung
Why is it that clubs these days leave it so late in the close season to sign new players? Nobody has really given me a credible answer to this one of life's little conundrums.
RichW
Is it the selling clubs fault? As they hold out as long as possible so that they get an over inflated fee?! Probably not for the buying clubs attempt at trying...
Roger Red Hat
Its because the season is starting ever earlier!!!
bangers
Well with Coppell coming in he needed to look at the players and it is understandable as to why he didnt jump straight into the market. Fact is though with Maynard out we NEED a TOP CLASS Striker. And I cant understand why we HAVENT REPLACED HARTLEY.

OK, So perhaps the process could have been quicker by canvassing the opinion of his trusted number 2, As to who was not up to the job, Millen I think his name is. bangers
Suggestions? I think realisticly we have missed the boat with Scotland, BOYD and AMBROSE. I'm out of ideas to be honest, we had our chance and we didn't take it.

Randy Marsh
Teams won't sell unless they have options available to replace them with. Look at it like the property ladder.

Admin Maesknoll Red Posted August 10, 2010 Admin Report Share Posted August 10, 2010 What about Hartleys replacement? There may well be frantic activity right on the deadline, as Prem clubs are now limited to a 25 man squad, as they complete signings, so they will have to release or loan players. citynut54
Maybe it's players (or more likely agents) keeping options open for as long as possible.
