Redland
Does anyone know the precise nature of Nicky Maynards knee injury? We were originally told that he did not require an operation and would be back in a couple of weeks. We were then told that the club had sought a second opinion and he required an operation. We are now told he will be out for 3 to 4 months. This very much reminds me of the Steve Brooker saga and I am worried that when we get to December we will be told that he requires yet another operation and will be out for the rest of the season. Two years later he still will have not have returned. I hope I am worrying unnecessarily but having seen Paul Cheesley and Steve Brookers careers wrecked by knee injuries the current lack of information does not fill me with confidence. Normally we would be told that it is a cruciate ligament or cartilage problem etc but all that we have been told is that it is a "knee injury". Perhaps someone from the club can provide more information.
