Nibor
Not sure if that's a corner turned, but what was clear was the players were giving 100%. Our forward play was very good, lots of running at defenders, Stead making good use of the more direct stuff, could have done with a bit more support from midfield but we looked threatening. Defensively we were better, actually closing down from the front as a team, but there were still a few horror moments that need work. Caulker and Fonts had very good games, pretty solid, lots of first ball winning from Caulker in particular. LJ did well in the first half, setting the right side free quite a bit. Faded a bit in the second. Elliott was ok. JCR on the left is a guaranteed cut in which makes it hard once the full back twigs. Some very strange substitutions IMO, Adomah was dead on his feet on 65 minutes (having terrorised Harte and closed down everything) and obviously needed to come off but we ignored him. I understood bringing on Cisse when Howard was roaming free but really the other two were baffling. Great backing of the team by the fans and an enjoyable atmosphere. Reading weren't bad and did have a few good opportunities. James made a handful of class saves. We're going to have to improve again to make a game of it against QPR but it isn't entirely out of the question. Keep it up City.
Alex_BCFC
Uncle Albert looked injured by 70 minutes and Rose for him would have been the obvious sub. It was a bit better and a vital 3 points. The test is whether we can build on it.

Your first sentence reminds me of the two goals at Cardiff. We actually scored from corners. No, seriously. And once again, we looked like scoring from a corner. This is unheard of. And we've spent 3 seasons complaining that the forwards never get the service. Now we are whipping in decent six-yard box crosses for fun. Unfortunately we haven't got a fox-in-the-box type player (ohhh, for Maynard now) at the moment.
