Jordan Tansley
This was being sung in the upper dolman!! Obviously the fans are taking to Brett pitman very much tongue in cheek, but the more Pitman scores the harder it will be for Nicky to get back into this side... and who would have thought we could be saying that 6 months ago! AnnieB
I find this really distasteful. Sometimes I despair of the intelligence (or should that be the lack of it) of our supporters. No doubt Millen is our best manager ever too according to some.
citylad05
Pitman is on fire and so is Stead which is great to see, would be intresting to see how Nicky Maynard comes back and the same with Sam Vokes.

Nogbad the Bad
This was being sung in the upper dolman!! Obviously the fans are taking to Brett pitman You might sing this if Maynard had been sold and Pitman was proving successful as his replacement. To sing this while Nicky is still at the club and just about to return from a long term injury is truly pathetic. Tongue in cheek it may have been, but that's no excuse. Cardy
Nicky Maynard is a very very good player, our most valuable asset and the best striker at the club. That's who he is.

Lack of Action Man
The most valuable asset at the club is Steve Lansdown. No player, ever, is bigger than the club. I can see how it could be taken the wrong way and for me theres no need to launch a personal attack (though I'm sure that's not what it was meant to be) on a lad who seems pretty down to earth and is undoubtedly very talented but I have to agree in the sense that we are playing well without him. Both the Clarkson/Pitman and Stead/Pitman partnerships have looked easily championship quality and for me, it would be difficult for Maynard to get back into the team currently. alwaysbelieve
It's good we have FOUR good stikers, bit of competition for places. I doubt this will happen but COULD millen play 3 up front? stead, pitman and nicky?
Welcome To The Jungle
It's good we have FOUR good stikers, bit of competition for places. I doubt this will happen but COULD millen play 3 up front? stead, pitman and nicky? Short answer...no Tinnion tried it and quite frankly, we got dicked by swansea (7-1), almost as bad as our Cross city chums ( joke, we were not that bad)

Lrrr
if any chant was sung i would have wanted 'not as famous as your dad' at Nigel, if anything just to rile up the Derby fans as they were getting very annoyed from the looks of it from where i was sat. youwhat
Maynard is a goal machine if you give him the ball in the right places. Not saying Pitman isnt too but Maynard is total class! This part of the Dolman was not singing this song!
Clarky89
Only Bristol City fans would sing this eh?!?! I hope Maynard saw it as tounge in cheek as well . . . . Maynard is still our best player, end of.
Never to the dark side
Very disappointed to hear THAT chant if it was sung. Nicky Maynard was actually at the game. Keith Millen said in the interview after the game that Nicky Maynard had seen the specialist and the specialist said he was please with Nicky's progress Although Keith said the bone hard pitches would not have helped Nicky getting back to full fitness
Jon atyeo is my dad
I sit in the dolman near the back and I heard nothing ! If it was sung , it must have been a small handful and I would imagine it was just banter between mates !
BITW
Pretty stupid song TBH. And as far as I'm concerned a fit Maynard walks into our team all day long.
REDOXO
Nicky Maynard is a very very good player, our most valuable asset and the best striker at the club. That's who he is. Yep! That's him! However, well done Brett John and Clarkey all playing very well and giving us thoughts of a forward line unmatched in this division (with multiple combinations) Cmon you reds
Riaz
a little disrespectful to our best player - probabaly meant in a harmless way tho. But on the subject of pitman/maynard - I've not seen anything to suggest he'll be better than maynard - but I have been impressed with him recently. BcfcAlwaylaaa
Its funny how people can forget things, Has some people forgot maynard was not only Bristol city's Top scorer but the whole league top scorer. Can just forget maynard like that. However it is a good thing that maynard has to fight for his place because the last couple of seasons he would of definetly walked straight back in the team. It's a very good problem to have, I bet Millen Is delighted!! Up The City... Down The Rovers

Whilst I do not agree with the apparent chants about him at all - you have to understand they are post-ironic, sung at the heat of the moment implying we have good competition for strikers at the moment. Shouldn't be done however.

I doubt this will happen but COULD millen play 3 up front? stead, pitman and nicky? I can't see that working myself. That would mean playing a midfield 3 in behind and sacrificing Adomah in CM. I'd still have Stead and Maynard atm, but if Pitman continues to score then he will force his way onto the team-sheet.
FanaticRed
Pitman along side Maynard would offer more goals but Stead along side Maynard would offer balance plus goals... tough decision but id probably opt for a partnership of Stead and Maynard! Pitman to come on in the second half! Does anyone know whats going on with Danny Haynes? he was a real fans favourite last season walst starting every game! its funny how quickly things change in football.
