VERY good player, but don't think he's what we need, never going to get among the goals, but does have experience and would be the general we need in midfield, however too similar maybe in sytle to Marv, Skuse and Cisse.

Wouldn't be a bad signing, wouldnt knock it though, likewise with Michael Brown

I don't think there is any doubt that Hughes wouldn't improve our goalscoring record himself as he hasn't scored a league goal in nine years!

What he would do though is give us a player who could sit in front of the back four, take good set pieces and use the ball well, sound at all familiar?

I'm not sure that either Elliott or Skuse are doing that for us at present, it would also possibly allow Marv to play further forward and hopefully contribute a few vital goals.

For me the goalscoring, creative midfielder of proven Championship standard that we are after is obviously out of our price range (which is why I'd have liked us to gamble on Ryan Harley) and so getting in someone that we can afford and who will improve us in midfield is what we badly need to do this week.
