Silentone
Is Rovers position worrying you ? Let me explain. Unless I have made a mistake, I don't think that there has ever been a season, when City and Rovers were separated by more than one division. They spent many years in the same division or City in 2nd and Rovers in 3rd. When City reached the old 1st Division, Rovers were in the 2nd. When City plummeted to the bottom of the old 4th Division, Rovers were in the 3rd. If City got promoted, so did Rovers. Both City and Rovers seem to be tied together. So if Rovers do go down, then I fear that City will do as well.

Bishops Finger
Yes I am really worried about rovers position, I would feel a lot more comfortable if they were 20 points worse off and bottom of the league....

Not quite true,in the early 1900's when we were in the 1st division rovers were a southern league club. They didn't even join the football league until 1921. Donald
They have nothing to worry about, ok. They lost today but it's not like they got totally dicked by the team bottom of the league Come on Yeovil

Silentone
Not to worry, there's a first time for everything. Could be the reason we lost to Hull in the play off a couple of seasons ago ! History would have been made.
sglosbcfc
I haven't heard today's result, but Rovers won't go down. Penney was very clear in the week when he said he has strengthened the back four and it's clean sheets all the way from now on for the Gas. bristolcitysweden
It does. The lack of competition are softly killing us. I blame Rovers for our shortcomings over the last onehundreed years. SHAME ON YOU!!

Alex_BCFC
Long way to go for both teams. I think both will stay up but by the skin of their teeth. Interesting stat though if true.
dezgimed
Can you imagine both teams going to the final game of the season needing points to stay up. City up through a 90th minute winner. Scum down through a 90th minute winner for the opposition. I'd piss my pants. Love that to happen.
duncan disorderley
I also find rovers plight worrying. With 20 games left, there is a chance they could escape the drop, this really worries me.
Silentone
In the 2006/7 season when City won automatic promotion to the Championship, Rovers in Division 2 had an incredible end to the season and sneaked into the playoffs in 6th position. They then went on to win the playoffs and get promoted to the 1st division. History shows that had to happen !!
