SC_Red
True, but what about Konchesky to Forrest. Now if ever there was a Left back that we needed until the end of the season!! any number of reasons.. wages, team battling at the right end of the table, halfway between Liverpool and London. grove park city
How is it Derby attract this sort of Liverpool player, but we struggle...It's all very frustrating!!!! Because they are a much bigger club,History,Ground, fan base ... BCFC are small fry in this division against LeedsUtd,Norwich City, Leicester City,Middlesbrough,Forest,Ipswich Town,Burnley,Sheff Utd we are nearly always going to lose out unless as K.Millen points out we pay stupid money in terms of wages or transfer fees ....... Bednar was a classic was never coming here ,Keogh much more likely as Wolves obviously want him gone on loan with a view to selling .

Dalglish pretty much said last week that Koncheskys confidence is shot after criticism he has got, and they need to build him back up. Sending him to a form team, where he has chance to get a few wins under his belt....would do him the world of good. Coming to us.....probally wouldnt

It would probably have been a better challenge coming to someone like us, to see if he could improve our defence. After all it hasn't done Caulker any harm for his confidence has it, and you never know we might even start winning more!!

The difference is Caulker came here on the back of an excellent season at yeovil, brimming with promise and confidence. Liverpool fans slated Hodgeson and his signings constantly. Now, where as I agree with players not being wrapped up in cotton wool, no one knows how much this may have effected the lad. If I remember rightly, didnt he struggle with confidence when he was at some where like West Ham? Ive heard a fair few people who support Liverpool slate the lad as he isnt a "Liverpool type of player" Forest is a good move for him. I doubt he will play for Liverpool again, if Forest go up, he may even stay with them. To add to this, Forest is a much better set up with much better players and management. Forest are not a much better side than us. If I remember we ran them very close a few weeks ago on their tump, and was unlucky not to come away with something out of the game. I can't believe how some of out fickle fans run down our players and management set up on here. As we are ALL talking about today (transfer deadline day), we are only a few players away from being a descent team in this division, exspecially when we get our injured players back!!! Please dont refer to me as fickle just because I am realistic and dont sit there with blinkers on! Forest do have a better set up then us, its not a bad thing. They are a bigger club, with more fans and more money. They also have a very good manager. They are also in a much better elague position then us, and even if they dont go up this year, not many people would put money on us finishing above them next year

Totally agree. I feel that we have missed out on loan targets due to our league position. Managers like Wenger have publicly stated that they don't want to loan youngsters to struggling clubs, as it might damage their confidence. In Konchesky's case, we would struggle to meet the percentage of wages that they would expect us to pay.

Yes you are right they are a bigger club after being in the top flight for so long. But there football at the moment isn't much better than ours, with all there so called stars. Would you at least agree that they are also a much bigger club than Blackpool, but look where they are!!
Riaz
The sooner people realise we are a small club the better. Clubs like Derby and Forest are bigger than us and more players would be interested in going to those teams.

Would you at least agree that they are also a much bigger club than Blackpool, but look where they are!! For me, form and league tables do not lie. Forest hit the play-offs last season, and will almost certainly hit them this season. This reason and this reason alone, says to me they have better players and a better set up. As for the money.....its hardly "rubbish". How much would Konchesky be on at Liverpool, £30k? £40k? how how can we afford to pay half that?? All gloss and no substance history, tradition ,fan-base call it what you like make these teams a draw why will Leeds Utd pull in a big crowd at Ashton Gate THEIR NAME AND TRADITION give them the whole East End and they will fill it with their fans from alover the country................. No wonder KM and SL are struggling to get players in!!!

No wonder KM and SL are struggling to get players in!!! You can try to sign "big name" players as much as you like (if you can pay the wages) but the fact is that given a choice they will choose a bigger club (unless of course they have just got married, are pushing forty, have a house in the west country etc.) . Just a fact of life and there is no point in kidding ourselves otherwise.
