The most irritating individual on the BBC, he's up there with Mr Blobby in the annoyance stakes. I suspect its just lazy journalism saying how great Mr Maynard is and is destined for greater things. Although I do recall him saying a certain Albert Adomah would go on to better things whilst at Barnet via the BBC website.
