On a serious note, a lot of posters on here were adamant Frankie was good enough for us and should have been given a "chance" surely the lowly Cheltenham Town releasing him is a sure sign he really wasn't?

Spot on. Has been true of so many below average young players at this club in recent years. Tristan Plummer and Jennison Myrie-Williams were two such players and they've both scored for Lebeq in Bristol's Sunday morning league this year!

Exactly.

I remember posting on her numerous times during the Gary Johnson era trying to reason with people on the 'play the youth' debate.

So many posters were berating GJ to the hilt because he continued to pick LJ and ignored Frankie Artus.

People blame the coaches, the training, the medical staff, the manager etc etc, but I attempted to reason that perhaps, just perhaps, the player wasn't actually good enough and the boss knew it.

Without sounding sanctimonious, it's nice to be proven correct. Some people need to take a look at the bigger picture sometimes. You can't just throw a kid into the team in the Championship. The kid ACTUALLY has to be good enough too!

Too many people always too quick to jump on the 'blame the manager' bandwagon, when clearly, having seen the boy in training on a daily basis, he knew the lad wasn't up to scratch.

Completely right, even Ryan Harley had to go down to Weston to come back up (and lose a lot of attitude on the way, apparently) still, some on here (Hello Chappers) will still bang on that Johnson should have played players who have since ended up with Lebeq's Tavern, Mangotsfield United, Weston-Super-Mare or are Cheltenham cast offs and the like.....
