Possibly a step nearer.

A reliable sag site has blown open the pretty well known secret that the sags, south glos and uwe are in talks to build a stadium at hanbrook.

What the sags fail to realise is that selling of a convented peice of land, that doubles as a war memorial and gift to the people of Bristol is going to make the av town green application a minor spat.

I know nothing of the Gashead High Command wanting to sell the Memorial Rugby Ground but if this is true then there could be serious trouble ahead for the Gas. The 'Memorial Ground' was dedicated to the memory of the Rugby Union players of Bristol killed during World War I. The Memorial Ground was opened on 24 September 1921 by G B Britton, the Lord Mayor of Bristol, as a home for Bristol Rugby Club. It was never ever intended to be a home for a football club or to be owned by - or sold by - a football club.
