Just received this from the Council:

"Live webcast of public rights of way committee decision on village green for Ashton Vale

Bristol City Council meets on Thursday June 16 at 4pm to discuss the application from Ashton Vale residents that Ashton Vale Fields be granted town and village green status.

Due to public interest, this meeting will be webcast live on the internet from 3.55pm on the day. Viewers will be able to see and hear the debate and watch any of the presentations the committee receives."

The Council will be streaming the meeting on their own website. But we've also put their embedded player up on the Trust homepage ready and waiting already, so you'll be able to watch it here, too.

As I believe that it can be proved beyond doubt that this landfill site has not been used by the local community for at least twenty years, what is there to debate?

Surely the Committee simply need to consider the facts and ignore the lies and emotional BS being spouted by the so-called friends of "Ashton Vale Fields".

Good work getting it on the trust site BR.

We aim to please!

Re attendance, as far as I know, the meeting is open to the public to attend as observers, but will not include any input from the floor as in some of the previous meetings, which have been of a different type.

Surprised Dolly and the Trust aren't onto this, again we need as m any people there as possible.

The club have asked us not to, as they want the committee to make a decision based on facts and not because they were under pressure due to the amount of people there. In case it goes our way, and the opposition decide to try and challenge it in a court that the decision was made due to "public pressure" :)

By all means turn up though, i'll be there.

As long as it is a fair playing field and any potential NIMBY presence isn't allowed to influence proceedings, then the clubs decision is a sensible one.

But don;t forget, we are dealing with DESPERATE people here.
