Personally I like the approach and it may make sponsors more willing to come to clubs with such an idea. As long as its not 'Sh*t Skips Inc.' or whatever thier sponsor is this year I wouldnt be too bothered by it. However the difference between City/Rovers and the other two examples given (Weds/Utd and The Old Firm) is that we play in different divisions. You could argue that the higher placed team in the league will have a greater chance of media attention via SKY etc. so would that mean that we would expect more money from the sponsor? and if so would the Rovers board be happy with that deal?
