old_eastender Posted August 1, 2011 Report Share Posted August 1, 2011 Hoping that Carey's unconvincing performance against WBA might clear Millen's rose-tinted specs, there again I'd hope we would not give him a new contract at all, but sentamentality was allowed to rule common sense. Not seen any of the friendlies that Hunt has played in, but seems to have had good reports, so why not play a right back by trade at right back, gotta be better than Carey surely? The past couple of seasons he has got better as the season goes on, the older we get the longer it takes to get to peak fitness (and we also lose peak fitness quicker). If the first choice centre halves are going to be Fontaine and Wilson then there should be enough pace in the middle to cover for the lack of pace in McAllister and Carey, especially if Skuse is sitting in front of the defence as well.
