It'd leave Arsenal as the only team in the football league to have never been promoted or relegated.

No. Aston Villa were, actually, relegated to the old third division back in the 70's. I remember seeing them play at Shrewsbury.
Slave to the rhythm
No. Aston Villa were, actually, relegated to the old third division back in the 70's. I remember seeing them play at Shrewsbury. They also had a short (one season?) spell in the old Division Two in about 1987. It was when Graham Taylor took over, and by 1990 they were runners up in the old Division One. Taylor then got the England job and the rest is history. Can we not knock it? Carlton! Carlton!! David Brent
That'd be interesting. It'd leave Arsenal as the only team in the football league to have never been promoted or relegated. Not for much longer hopefully.
