Chivs
Sack Walsh. Sack Wiggers. Sack Naylor. Sack Millen. Sack them all. I'm sick and definitely tired of watching second rate players give third rate performances. I'm sick and tired of the cosy Bristol City lifestyle being a comfort zone for old City players. I'm sick and tired of the cosy Bristol City lifestyle being a comfort zone for current City players. I don't know any of the above people. And if someone came on a forum and said "Sack Chivs" I'd be pretty miffed. But, football is a results business and it's easy to measure results in football. Since Wiggers joined City we have got worse. Sack him. I'm not entirely sure what a "Development Coach" does but Walsh doesn't do it. Sack him. Gerken is arguably a better player than when he joined but James isn't. Sack Naylor. And Millen? Dear god. When he was first employed (as manager - after many years in the cosy City lifestyle) many people claimed that he was well respected in the FA and came top of his class at the FA coaching school. He plays 4-5-1 at home against a team who like to play it about at the back (where we deployed one player who can't play as a single player...). We must clear out all the dead wood. I don't want the obnoxious Billy Davies here but whoever comes in must replace the entire coaching staff. Some seem to think that we have a poor squad and Millen must be allowed to create his own team after the playing deadwood has been cut down!!! This is ridiculous. We have a good squad. Certainly good enough for comfortable mid table. The problem is the management and coaching staff. Sack them all.

The old man don't go down no more popped in to see him after the game today i said the same thing to him, get someone like Jones, rip up all the backroom staff gradually, obviously you can't do it over night but needs to be done, otherwise some ex City greats will have there names tarnished, an independent review i feel the club needs, someone to come in and sort out this mess. Except.... Really, how many coaches do we need at the club? [This is City - you are not allowed to say 1 competent one will suffice...] We must have 6 (??) goalkeepers total? And we need 2 coaches to "develop" them?? That would be like having two specialist coaches for our central midfielders.

Why the hell do we need so many of them? They're a drain on our "limited" resources - no wonder there's no money for players! When Dicks took us to the First Division, there was just him, Sillett and the guy who made the tea and passed round the fags at half-time. That would be like having two specialist coaches for our central midfielders. One is working with kids and one with adults. I am not sure what time the first teams trains but it is not unusual to see the academy coaches at Failand later then 8:30pm, so in my opinion 2 coaches are required. brady bunch
I agree with most of the comments, but would add this. the wages of 4 or 5 backroom staff probably equal what we are paying just one of the many non playing stars like Cissie and Nicky Hunt. The progress from our youth set up has been pretty shocking and the last really quality player for me was Tommy Doc, since then they have only been journey men that we could have got for free. I think they need to be given clear targets or completely scrap the program. Its not a question of if we can afford to sack the coaching team, Its more that we simply cannot afford to keep them as we hurtle back to league 1.
