Fiale
I was reading a BBC news article on sentences regarding to people arrested in the recent riots. There was this chart Is it me or are others amazed that we have people walking the streets (apparently in their 10'000s - if this is any way representative) with 10+ convictions (some with more than 50+ convictions) surely time to start implementing a 3 strikes system and put these people away for good, how is a person with more than 10 convictions allowed to walk the streets for no reason other tan to work their way up from 20+, 30+, 40+ - no wonder we have such high crime. Barrs Court Red
You'll probably find anyone with more than 10 are druggies and that it's low level crime.
CiderHider
Possession/use of recreational drugs is not a crime imo, stop wasting our tax's pursuing it please.
Fiale
Possession has not been illegal for a while now though has it ? Only having enough for intent to supply ?
Red-Robbo
It is still illegal, although Class B possession (cannabis in other words) is usually dealt with by a caution - unless the OB don't like your face. Possession of Class A drugs is likely to see a trip before the Beak, unless it is a minute amount. I don't think 'three strikes and you're out' is fair or would work, but I do agree that there are far too many serial offenders wandering the streets. Mr Popodopolous
Perhaps a mixture of recedivism and a poor rsystem of rehabilitation. Latter should not be overlooked I don't think, though it probably will be, by various elements of the media, political classes and public at least. Jambodave
its down to common sense, really. as long as you dont take the p*** then I know the police will leave you a lone (and sometimes give the offending item back )
