Keepers Ball Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Just looked at our history of the past 60 years and came across a worrying stat. Apart from the glory years of the mid 60's and 70's , Bristol City have never spent more than 5 seasons in the second tier of the football league, going down to the 3rd in the process 1955-60 1990-95 1998 And more worryingly this is our 5th season !!!!
Keepers Ball Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 btw sorry for big space on post..dunno how that happened and cant shift it

Mighty Squirrel Kingdom Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I was going to look this up as I suspected as much, but thanks for checking it out. The big gap actually works in your favour...just enough time to take it in before reading the first reply!
Economou Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 The only time in recent history we've stayed in 2nd tier for a long period of time was when the chairman kept faith with the manager ie. Alan Dicks. I'd imagine he was unpopular with the fans after a few disappointing seasons however he kept his job and the club reaped rewards eventually. I believe Gary Johnson could have done a Dicks.
