Chivs
So,let's say hypothetically, that you need a new manager. How do you go about "getting your man"? I'd imagine you sound out a few people in football. But it's not easy as everyone is an expert in football and everyone has an agenda. Who exactly do you call? Is there an organisation equivalent to the PFA that helps chairmen with their enquiries ("Press 1 to talk to an operator concerning your manager position")? I guess each applicant will have a CV listing their achievements. It ought to be easy to "rank" applicants but if their achievements are any good then surely they wouldn't be an applicant?!? So, does Sexstone or Lansdown ring Gary Johnson and get a good independent view from him? And if they do, who do you think that the good friend of the out of work Dave Jones, that Gary will recommend?
redcherryberry
Im surprised this hasnt been mentioned before on here. It's what ive been banging on to my lot about, the SL/GJ/Dave Jones link. Course SL will seek GJ's advice and that worries me. Dont want Dave Jones here. mcbcfc
This is why I think Mark Robbins is in with a good shout. Lansdown is on good terms after the loan spell under Wilson. I think he'll be our man. No rumours of seeing him in Nandos or shooing of the mass hoard of people from Ashton Vale, just a feeling.
