The Exiled Robin Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Wrote this last night ahead of today's news, proved to be ever so slightly prophetic! I think appointing from within can work but definitely not the answer this time around, let's hope the board don't get tempted http://exiledrobin.blogspot.com/2011/10/boot-room.html?spref=tw
RedZepperin Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Good article and a nice read, thanks. It turned out to be a mistake to promote from within, on two occasions. It also seems to have been a mistake to think that we could "home-grow" our players via the Academy. It was worth a try but it just looks like we weren't good enough on the coaching front. Time to start again! Maybe this gentleman from north of the border could be our Bill Shankly...
The Exiled Robin Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Cheers RedZep, always good to know people enjoy the articles. Would be happy with McInnes myself, bit of a throw-back to the days when big names weren't always the answer

Until quite recently, our club has had a pretty good record with Scots, who have usually showed the passion that has been sadly lacking lately. Gerry Gow, Tom Richie, Gerry Sweeney, Joe Jordan and Scotty Murray are just a few who have played with passion when they've worn the City shirt. Maybe that's part of the Scottish temperament, but it's something we could definitely do with right now and maybe this fellow could instill some of this mindset in some of the gutless performers we've got in the side at present.
