Modestant
... be really disappointed at an appointment like that? I've read and heard lots about him being one of the favourites but I can't help but see it as a real lack of ambition if there turns out to be truth in it. Riaz
Why would it be a lack of ambition? Just because he ain't a big name? He's probabaly better than most of the big names mentioned. Plus he's been in our position before and kept Barnsley up

Keith_Lemon
Derek McInnes really sticks out for me. I know a potential top manager when I see one and I got the feeling McInnes could be the man who could take us into the PL. Much like when Martinez took over Swansea etc. McInnes's cider army! Modestant
Me three! That's what I mean - would definitely rather have someone in the mould of DM than Mark Robins. Seems like too much of a nice guy (a la Tinnion, Millen) whereas McInnes seemingly has a reputation for being tough and no-nonsense. CTID
CiderArmyy
If it is between Mciness and Robins and robins gets the job i'll be really disapointed.. Just seems Mciness can take us that step further, rather than staying 15-17th like Barnsley did under Robins year in year out.

Monkeh
Rather they gave the job to David James he nether inspires or will get the bums back on seats both which are needed Jones or mciness will do this I also don't think be will be the strong character in th dressing room that is needed Very underwhelmed if be is named
Riaz
Sounds like you all want a manager with a reputation..... They are not usually the best managers..
Monkeh
No I want o e that will take and shape this club not another old boy We need another Gary johnsonesc manager robins is not that just look at what Barnsley fans say about him not one has a good word about him
Modestant
Sounds like you all want a manager with a reputation..... They are not usually the best managers.. Besides managing a middle-size Scottish club, what big reputation has DM got? He would be coming here to make something for himself through building success for us, as opposed to coming here with past achievements still strapped firmly to his chest (i.e. Billy Davies, SOD). Mark Robins would be, as the above poster says, very underwhelming indeed.

bangers
would be very disapointed. We need someone with a bigger personality. Would like McInnes.

I know the history and results but I don't have a clue about the guy as a person. I am guessing he is a larger than life kind of guy from what you are saying bangers. Should be interesting if he is hired.

Something Robins certainly doesnt.
GrahamC
Whilst Robins' record at Rotherham was certainly very good when you take into account the points deduction and financial issues , I'm not sure his time at Barnsley was all that. His big achievement there was to save them from relegation in 2009 when they were bottom in September when he took over (sound familiar?), however an overall record of; Won 29 Drew 25 and Lost 38 isn't that great, is it? II Wurzel II
Out of the 5 current favourites Mark Robins is the one im dreading to be honest, I know he's done half decent job at other clubs but theres just something about him thats putting me off, would prefer McInnes or even SOD over Robins. All good then, happy days if he comes. Motivation is something these players are really missing. Not that they should need it. Professional pride should of taken over. Well it isn't a bad record when you consider the squads he had available to him. But granted on the face of it not the most inspiring of signings. That could be a good thing though, less expectation may take some pressure off.

bcfc_Jamie
Robins used to play for us so I wouldn't go there l. City players who went on to manage city have done very badly! Okay, there's only 2 recent ones but still.....
