reddevon Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Having followed all the fantacy postings from O/Neill through Moyes, Curbishley et al - why no mention of Peter Reid? Available Experienced Took Sunderland to Premier twice Great player pedigree "Name" No backroom following International Management experience Committed - (Sold his medals to pay Plymouth Electric Bill) Got to be reasonable salary (not been paid for last 3 months!) Would sort out the " prima donas" at club Why not or am I missing something?

Perhaps he is, and we've all missed it due to the excitement of Del boys name springing up
simonwheeler Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I totally agree seems to tick all the boxes and has always tried to play attractive football. Only one possible negative is that he is NOT a yes man and me thinks that, that is the type Sex Moan and Hands Down are looking for???? Reidy is very well connected and respected in the game so wouldnt be a problem for moi.
GrahamC Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I'd guess that even though most people realise he was on a hiding to nothing at Plymouth, the fact that his side there lost most weeks did nothing for his CV. What he did to help them stay afloat certainly shows there are still good men in football, though.
xerox6060 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Excitement? Try horror Your joking arn't you, great career, nice guy, takes no crap, admire him for taking on the Plymouth mess ...but he's past tense end of.
chipdawg Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Peter Peter Peter Reid, with his monkeys feet and his monkeys heed (works better in a Geordie accent)
reddevon Posted October 15, 2011 Author Posted October 15, 2011 Are the latest odds on Reid just bookmakers wanting to take some easy money or is he really in the final selection? I for one hope he is being considered and think he is just the type of manager we need right now. His name has not been included in any of the previous forum polls (I had to vote for Dolly instead!) How would the rest of you feel if he was appointed?
mightyreds89 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 His latest odds are 28-1 I don't think there's any chance at all.
Guest Tony Montana Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Now 5/1 at skybet, which means he's second favourite. Looks like McInnes is the man !
Guest citytype Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Peter Reid 5:1, Where did that come from?
