In CS interview he mentioned that he expected the final 2 to be chosen from the 5 or 6 that were interviewed early this week and would then be calling them in for a final interview each where the interviewing panel and new potential manager could give each other one final "grilling". From this i would guess that maybe Wednesday lunchtime could be the earliest that we hear something. The Evening Post claims to know the final 5 who were interviewed saying...

"The Evening Post understands the final five candidates chosen for interview, from a list of applicants that numbered in excess of 50, were Mark Robins, Dave Jones, Sean O'Driscoll, Derek McInnes and John Hughes."

If they know something and this really is the final 5 then it's Jones or McInnes who would be my choice. :D

Interviews are never at Ashton Gate. Over the years manager interviews have been held in some strange places!

Not just at City, but in general Ive heard of managers having their interviews......

Over a round of golf at Celtic Manor in Newport

Reading Services

Heathrow Airport departure lounge

McDonalds at Fleet Services on the M3

Hilton Metropole in Birmingham

In a Casino in London while playing roulette (guess which current Premier League manager that was!!)

While being driven around in a chauffeur driven car on the M1

Spearmint Rhino lap dancing club in Birmingham

The thing is, you just never know where these things take place. In general I gather that they are normally in posh hotels but sometimes you get chairmen that like to do things slightly outside of the box and meet in random places. In fact personally I think a standard interview in a room where you just sit and talk or give presentations is, to an extent, a waste of time. I know people who are fantastic at interviews, they know exactly the right things to say or do, but when it comes to doing to job they go for, they aren't as good as they make out in the interview. If you want to see the real person, take them out of the interview environment and get to know the real person - interviews are just a blaggers time to shine!

Im crap at interviews, but im good at my job. Equally people I know are great at interviews but are crap at the job.

Wow 50 applicants. Ok assume half were a load of rubbish but that is still an excellent number and shows that as a club we can still attract good players/managers

Would'nt be surprised if Lansdown flew them out to a destination abroad.

I think Wednesday, it's Columbus Day in the United States so we may want to time it right to get onto ESPN with our announcement broadcast coast to coast.

Actually seriously, I think Weds because they'll decide tonight, offer it, make the deals Tues spend the night nailing it all down and then announce next day.

Also then gives 3 days for the new boss to at least introduce himself.

"Hi I'm Mark Robins. Alex Ferguson is in a job because of me...."

unfortunately the EP are notorious for just copying rumours off this site - they have no more idea than we do!
