Guest Tony Montana Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Twentyman: What are you going to say to the players when you meet them today Derek? McInnes: Start Winning! Best part of the interview
Fordy62 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I was mighty impressed with him. Key points: Every player starts on the same footing. Priority is avoiding relegation. Success at the club is Premier League football. Call me soft, but I actually really believe again.
Fordy62 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I think it's time we started taking it as a compliment when people refer to us as Bristol. It's not as if there's competition.
Riaz Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I like him. The thing I liked was he said was that the players were signed by other managers, but there are my players now Good to hear someone not looking at an angle for an excuse - sounds like he's taking full responsibilty from the off.
exAtyeoMax Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I think it's time we started taking it as a compliment when people refer to us as Bristol. It's not as if there's competition. There is only one team afterall
Fordy62 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Oh, when asked "what sort of football are you going to bring to the club?" He replied saying that he prefers flowing expansive football, but we need to work out a style that suits the players that we have. And he implied that style of football wasnt important in the short term, only that we win games. Quite right too.
rudecowboy Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Cut him some slack he obviously hasn't heard of the other lot! Mind you Danny Wilson rarely ever said CITY either!
!james Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 sorry if this has been asked before but how long before its up on the bbc iplayer?
RedM Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 He said the usual stuff you'd expect to hear, but said it convincingly, like he believed in us. Great opportunity, etc. Said he needed to find a formation that suits us,. Understands the players maybe nervous of him coming in as he's been in the same situation as a player. Says they need confidence and he is going to meet them at the training ground now.Says they are players brought in by other people 'but right now they are my players'. Said he would be speaking to the backroom staff and asking them a million questions. mentioned Steve, Wiggly.
Guest fabio Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Sounds like he is going to give all players a fair chance, really impressed with his comments looking toward to seeing the turn around and who will be starting over the next 3/4 games
Fordy62 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I'm not sure whether it's just cos he's Scottish, but he certainly sounds like he's not adverse to handing out a bollocking.
Guest Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Twentyman: What are you going to say to the players when you meet them today Derek? McInnes: Start Winning! Best part of the interview Yes, that was funny. Was suprised to hear ...silence.. after that comment though as I was chuckling. He quickly moved on after the bail of hay rolled past
Guest mjallen Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I'm not sure whether it's just cos he's Scottish, but he certainly sounds like he's not adverse to handing out a bollocking. thats a legendary comment right there! mon you haggis muncher... get us some wins!
SecretSam Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Sounds like a strong man, answered Twentyman's lame questions robustly, am thinking he takes no prisoners
exAtyeoMax Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Can picture him now saying, 'who the fek are yous' followed by a swift kick to the nuts if any player has the nerve to pipe up to him. He'll sort them out!
