'Orns
Yeah, heard of him before now. Very highly rated - nice to see another Championship club give a young manager a chance in the game

Webzcas
I've just covered this on Footie Online. We first of all got wind of Appleton being in the frame a week ago. The appointment though, does allow me to put the boot into Copout though - last paragraph - http://www.footie-online.co.uk/2011/11/appleton-named-as-new-portsmouth-manager/9513/

bcfcchris2016
Well, why did you click on a post titled "next Pompey manager" ...... How random
Red-Robbo
So what happened to Copout then? Probably 'lost the passion' for the job as his pen was about to sign the contract. He got as far as the STE... Feel sorry for his missis
Snufflelufagus
Just imagine the reaction on here if we had gone for him .
Bugben43
Appleton is one of Dels best mates, he was there when Del played at West Brom. Would have been no2 if Del had got West Brom job as Peace refused to budge on back room. In the mold of Del, very hard working and stickler to details. Will do well. Brizzle Jordan
Wouldn't write him off already.. He's very highly rated and has learnt from Roy Hodgson, Di Matteo and a few others. He could well turn out to be a big success but he's only 35 so should be a long term project.
