NOTR
Apparently they failed to meet the coaches for the arranged escort, the coaches then had to make their own way to the ground and were late, the city fans were still making their way into the ground when we scored our first goal.what a shower of shite. Becuase they were late,I'm persuming you've been to the new den in which case you must know what they're like, the fact you're not looking for trouble doesn't save you from a kicking or your coaches from being attacked. chucky
As I understand, it wasn't that the police failed to meet the coach, but that the coach couldn't find the meeting place for the escort.
Tales From The Front
This just isn't good enough, many will remember the farce that occured when we lost 1-0 there when playing there in a vital match during th epromotion season. I was amoung many that didn't get to the ground at least 20 mins into the game, I appreciate the coach companies were also at fault but the plans that the Met put in place was also found to be at fault that day. Of course suporter safety is paramount but a repatition of this problem, really does need looking into.

reddoc
Ah well my information does come from the EP,that will teach me. To be fair to the Met, I walked from Canada Water, got completely lost there and back and had to stop and ask them the way 4x. They were helpful and polite even going to the extent of recommending areas worth avoiding , which as far as I could make out was all of it. southvillekiddy
Hats off to the team today. We are so blessed to have the transforming effect of the Mac. Never going to the New Den ever again after what happened to my son, daughter and I last season. We were pulled for nothing as was Stoney and his son and many others. The place is oozing aggression and paranoia. Everyone, especially the Police are affected by it. Typically they think they've got to act hard to prevent trouble. All that does is help to cause it. At the end you are kettled like a wild animal surrounded by sharpened steel metalwork. Who pays the estimated £150,000 for the coppers each home game? At QPR the Police made us 20 minutes late the season before last

Northern Red
According to Sky, the team coach only arrived an hour before. Was the traffic especially bad?

NiceRed
Went to the game yesterday. Got a bus from Canada Water tube to near the ground. On the way back, got a bus from near the ground to London Bridge station. Didn't see any trouble at all, not even a hint of it. Where was all this kettling?? Decent atmosphere in the ground as well, from both sets of fans. Their hooligans must've been watching the game at home yesterday, like ours. Made for a great day out. And yes, the area around the ground is a complete and utter sh1thole.
