havanatopia
Actually the article does not quite say Mackay was 'all the whille.. trying to sign him'. The article quotes :- Mackay advised Bolton that the young forward was not yet ready for the step up, but Coyle then discovered that Cardiff had tabled a £3.2million offer for Sordell - and were whisking him to Wales for a medical. (this could be read in more than one way) However, more importantly, Mackay may have still been giving an honest assessment, in his opinion, that the lad indeed was not ready for the prem. Either way, had i been Mackay i may very well have had to do the same; Cardiff are his employers not Coyle. Had Mackay decided to come clean Coyle could still have gazumped him. Both managers did what they had to do in the interests of their respective clubs. Whether it has soured a previous friendship or not is another matter entirely.
