DavidNoble
Maynard is being played as a lone striker in a 4-3-3 formation and isn't involved in the game whatsoever. Same old..?
Vintage1
They obviously never watched him play for us or they'd know lumping the ball over the top to him is about as productive as dead semen
Gibbs
Still looks like he's trying hard even though hasn't won a header the 10 minutes I've been watching.

He never won a header all the time he was at City, DID HE?

Gibbs
He never won a header all the time he was at City, DID HE? Well he scored at least two from memory. But yeah completely wrong formation and tactics for his style so far.
maxjak
Unbelievable! Allardyce was on SKY before the game crowing about what a good manager he is.......and why Gold appointed him, because he has seen it all...and apparently done it all! Yet he cannot see that you DO not play Nicky Maynard as a lone striker against two gigantic centre halves, he is having to feed on non exsistent scraps, and is being played in exactly the same way City had no choice but to play to him. If he has got an ounce of sense he will put Carlton Cole on in the Second Half, and then I I am sure West Ham will win...............if he is incapable of basic tactically change then I can see Palace stopping them scoring. I have had a few quid on West Ham........so sort it out Big Sam!
The Casual Connoisseur
Didn't realise he was playing, awful decision not to start with Cole.
