A Free Kick Taker For Next Season

We have long since needed a free kick taker who is excellent on placement (like Paul Hartley) and surely there must be someone north of the border who has experience in scoring with free kicks? we have wasted enough chances with them this season by more or less blasting it at the wall. The headers in the box aren't much better either.

I did ask him about this at the open forum thingy at the gate

His response at the time was "that he realised this was an area that needed to be looked at" I guess to be fair to him he hasn't had much chance as of yet to get that sorted but I would imagine he will during the close season......

I think it's partly due to the inability of our players to attack set pieces as well as the poor delivery. Under Johnson we had people like McCombe who always caused hassle. Recently we've been more successful (pen on Saturday) and the disallpwed goal against Coventry. I think this is due to Amogou and Stead throwing themselves about .

We can't take free kicks, corners or throw ins a pretty sad state of affairs for a squad of professional footballers!!!!!

Throw ins aren't really a worry for me, Free-kicks and corners though can be a very good goal scoring opportunity if you have specialists in these areas.

I'd like us to have 2 specialists in the team, one left footed and one right footed. Would mean we could put in good inswinging corners to cause the opposition defence problems.

But we should be at least retaining possession from throw-ins. 75% of the time we seem to lose it - mainly because no-one has a very good throw (apart from Foster), no-one ever seems to want to receive the ball and we often throw to players close marked by two opponents!

Throw-ins should be a basic part of our game. All that is required is a quick, short throw to restart possession. If there isn't an obvious pass available, why not just send it down the line for someone to challenge in the air. That will be an area where we will need to win the second balls.

The opposition mark us far too easily when it comes to throw in's. Would like to see more drive to get the ball.
