BcfcAllen
Might be wrong but i swear i just saw out of the corner of my eye on ssn it say that the league cup is to be renamed something like the capital one cup. This right? Anyone know why the change?

BcfcAllen
Just checked online. Renamed to capital one cup as part of new 4 year sponsership.
'Orns
Will always be The League Cup to me, and it's The European Cup that Chelsea have just won
Brizzle Jordan
Names like this ruin the cups imo. Uefa Cup was always a massive trophy years ago, now it's the Europa League it makes it seem less desirable.
Calculus
Might be wrong but i swear i just saw out of the corner of my eye on ssn it say that the league cup is to be renamed something like the capital one cup. This right? Anyone know why the change? 4 year sponsorship deal as has been said. In it's time it has been the Milk Cup, the Littlewood's Cup, The Rumbelows Cup, The Coca Cola Cup, The Worthington Cup and The Carling Cup. Personally I don't see the point of it. David Brent
Its the only one I seem to refer to by its sponsor i.e. carling cup, worthington cup etc...Capital One Cup doesn't have the same ring to it. The FA Cup isn't referred to as the E-ON cup, or whatever it is now.

NiceRed
Names like this ruin the cups imo. Uefa Cup was always a massive trophy years ago, now it's the Europa League it makes it seem less desirable. Surely it's more the lack of decent teams playing in it (as they're all in the Champs League) that devalues the Europa League... Credit Card company, cr@p beer...don't think it really matters who sponsors the League Cup. I'm sure if we had a decent run and reached the semis we'd all get very very excited about it. nebristolred
If the Champions League had 1 or 2 representatives from each country rather than 4, then the Europa League would be a million times more exciting. Platini will inevitably merge the 2 competitions at some point anyway.
