Squad Numbers - When Are They Released? + New Home Shirt

I'm sure I saw a topic on this but couldnt find it; apologies if I missed it.

Just after finding out when the squad numbers will be released, anyone got any ideas?

Also, for anyone who's bought the new home shirt, is the fit similar to previous adidas shirts i.e. if you've always had medium size, this season's medium will do fine?

I've dropped an e-mail to the club shop but not had any joy yet.

Have no idea about squad numbers but i would imagine they will be made public by Monday at the latest bearing in mind we have our first game on Tuesday. The home shirts are a little more forgiving this season imo. They are not as "fitted" this time.

I think it is pretty clear those being used in the friendlies are permanent now, which means at present we have no number 3 (Mark Wilson, who is on trial with us has worn that), 16 or 19 which are presumably being kept free for any possible signings.

And likely that they only signing before registration could well be Wilson.

But we could well have departures that could free up numbers.

If these numbers are correct i think it's a shame that Gerken hasn't been given the number 1 shirt. After all his patient wait in the wings surely he deserves it. Also I would have thought that Cunningham should have the number 3 shirt as that is traditionally the one for the left fullback. He's probably going to play regularly so I don't know why he hasn't been given it, especially as he is a direct replacement for McAllister.

Some footballers are superstitious, Cunningham was number 17 for Forest last season and to my knowledge Gerken has always had 22 whilst with us, so I guess that is why they have those numbers.

Numbers mean less and less each season. Whichever 'keeper is number 1 is highly unlikely to mean that they'll be the number 1...so to speak.
