Robbie Fowler - Pundit

I don't have a major problem with Robbie Fowler. Admittedly past indiscretions on the pitch make me think he's bit of a tit. But, why, I wonder has be suddenly been projected into forefront of TV punditry?

I saw him at the end of the Liverpool's match yesterday and now he's here on the BBC.

Why do so many ex-footballers seem to just walk into jobs with broadcasters when before they'd never exhibited any sort of particular talent for it or even had anything interesting to say in the past?

Robbie Savage is another example - he's just a motor-mouth gobshite who has no insight into anything.

Robbie Savage on should players' wages be capped:

To think BBC presumably pay him a fee for this nonsensical bollocks.

Anyway, can't wait for tomorrow!

Have to say I agree with you on Fowler as a pundit. As a kid he was one of my favourite players (I lived in Liverpool when I first came to England) and I was actually at the game against Everton where he sniffed the line, everyone seemed to think it was a great laugh at the time!

Some of the ex-players are shocking pundits and Savage is particularly bad, I swear he just says things for the sake of it...

There's an old article on WSC I was reading today written by a bloke who set up an Andy Townsend parody twitter account which ended up being quoted in national newspapers. He basically says that there is so much nonsense and uninsightful crap spouted by these ex players that people just didn't realise it was a parody. He points out that he only chose Townsend because he happened to be on tv when he thought to do it. Could have been Shearer, Savage... Any of them.

I genuinely think the BBC, ITV, Sky, whoever, would get more sense out of me and my mates after 6 pints than they do out of those morons

No surprise really, ever since Strictly Come Dancing Savage has been a favourite. How many legs did he have to hump :laughcont:
