Personally I was never happy when he left the gate in the wake of signing James. I don't suppose we will ever know how SL feels about how his gamble went but I can't help but think that the upsurge in support and merchandise sales that must have been the force behind the signing never offset the expense. Kid in the Riot Posted August 29, 2012 Report Share Posted August 29, 2012 To be honest considering some of the stories that I used to hear come out of Portishead about him I'm surprised he has progressed as he has! Must have sorted himself out though and fair play doing well. His decision to leave obviously. Bringing in James was a bad move in hindsight, but at the time it seemed a decent idea.
