marcofisher
Just been watching out highlights on the football league show and noticed he was involved in every single attack by holding up the ball an making some lovely passes. Although you may argue we did not have many attacks he showed Target Man play as it was meant to be, and really showed Stead up on the way he does it! His awareness and vision was incredible for the chances we created, and although he hasn't been scoring many he really knows where people are and where the danger zones are and will create a lot of goals for our others! The chances were as followed: 1) Stead fired a long ball too him, he takes it perfectly under control and weights a lovely ball through to Stephen Pearson who dragged it back for Stephen Davies for our first goal! 2) Takes the ball out on the right hand side, pushes the ball out left to get away from the defender and hits a beautiful cross across the face of goal that if Davies got any touch on would have been our second. 3) This one isn't as clear in my mind but I know he was definitely involved! Far as I remember, he slid a lovely ball through the defence, for Stead who then struck the ball against the post! I certainly feel now that we have three very strong strikers in Taylor, Baldock & Davies each with their own specialist qualities! I feel Taylor should be starting every game though as I feel Davies can play alongside anyone, but I don't think Baldock can play as well off Davies as Davies is more of a centre forward and pushes Baldock out of his comfort slightly(Sort of how Maynard and Pitman never worked that well). I feel Taylor and Baldock and Taylor and Davies are much better up front, for the sole reason both Davies and Baldock can get into such good positions to play off Taylor! Taylor MUST start in my opinion! Your opinions?
Red-Robbo
Taylor was one of the few plusses I took from that match. (Along with Briggs's promnise and Davies' pouncing on whatever meagre scraps came his way) His first touch is great and he can physically hold off an opponent. Something in very short supply at AG currently. People go on about Stead and Pearson's workrate, but Taylor kept battling away and because he's a young man, he still had some legs in him at the end. SuperRed
His hold up play is some of the best I've seen, pretty much every time it goes in to him it sticks. He showed last night he's decent on the floor as well.
Scrumpty
Yep, he definitely had a good game and should retain his place for the next game but, alas... He will probably start on the left wing!
Youngish
A much better footballer than Stead in my opinion. I feel Stead's time at the club may be coming to an end. Taylor is much better at his job than Stead is, Stead is much older and is probably on much higher wages, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. Lew-T
He looked very good. Has improved alot since we signed him from Rotherham
CheddarReds
Taylor is brilliant at what he does, holding up the ball and giving it to the speedy striker, it's what he did for Le Fondre the season Rotherham went up. This is why i'd love to see him play more with Baldock!
Alex#40
Was by far our best player last night. Has looked good all season. I can see him going on to much bigger things than us.
BASSO
i thought he was a shit and un-needed signing when millen brought him in, oh do i look like quite the fool now, just the fact that he has got so much game time this season is a surprise plus his hold up play has been very impressive, still only my 3rd choice striker because baldock and davies have scored a lot more but i'm still very pleased with his progress. Jordan Tansley
He's been brilliant all season, I really rate him. He might not score goals but he has a huge impact on almost every attack, makes himself available with intelligent movement all game long and would be my first name on the team sheet every week. He'll get better and better too.
stevecity86
RTs hold up play and ball control were brilliant, as well as his role in Davies goal. Has been consistently good for us this season, credit where it's due to Millen for signing him.
bearded_red
He was once again excellent yesterday and should be the first name on the teamsheet at the moment. He has been heavily involved in all of our best play this season (Palace, Cardiff, second half at Peterborough, Watford).
ChrisBCFC
One problem. Doesnt look like a threat infront of goal.
Taylor10
Class act. He will only improve as well. What I like about him is how good he is with his feet. Most target men don't have it in them to link up play and be effective with their feet the way in which he does. Once he has established himself and we find a regular system and style of playing I believe he will score more and be more of a threat infront of goal. TBW
Would personally play him in centre midfield. A big player holding the ball up there could do a job whereas he's not much of a threat in front of goal right now.

It would seem Derek McInnes has a forum account.

Taylor played in CM when Millen was in charge last season, that's hardly an argument for him to play there mind. I thought Taylor looked quite good there, and I'd rather see Taylor in midfield than Morris!
miketh2nd
One problem. Doesnt look like a threat infront of goal. No point having strikers if on the pitch if no ones providing the oppurtunties. Taylor was unlucky to get dropped he was one of the main reasons we started this season so well. Taylor and Davies to start for me, just a shame the midfield is such a shambles.

I remember him bringing him on wide left a few times though.

The only time I remember him featuring under Millen was coming off the bench against Hull and Blackpool and he was certainly upfront on both of those occasions. Redrobbin
Yes Ryan feeding the ball into baldock with is holding skills and vision could really pay dividends. But with Davis playing so well at the mo. We may have to wait a while for that partnership to materialise.

Get a feeling baldock will go the way of Pitman Baldock seem s to impress more when he comes on from the bench, Where as Davies seems to impress more starting. mightyreds89
Let me get this right... Taylor has been good this season and holding up the play bringing others into the game and ensuring the ball stays up top meaning the pressure is taken off of the back lien and we have people on here suggesting we play him in midfield????!!! RockinRobin87
I think we should play Taylor alongside baldock and put Davies in centre mid with Pearson and give that a go, tried pretty much every other option but this one to me seems like a logical tactic, we gain someone in midfield who does the dog and can score goals and baldock running off Taylor's knock downs
ChrisBCFC
For **** sake playing Davies or Taylor in centre midfield would be a disaster!!!! We need someone in or play 3 in the middle. SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!
RockinRobin87
Dint say nout about Taylor in midfield, but in respect to davies why would it be a disaster, the guys got a desire, he puts in the tackles, tracks back and can pass the ball about something that is lacking in our current midfield. And yes in an ideal world bringing someone would be great but we failed to do it in the summer so who's going to be available on a loan now?
