In this time of negativity, here are a few of tales of clubs enjoying a wonderful reversal of fortunes to lighten the mood.

In the 2006/07 season Sunderland sat after 16 games 18th with 19pts. 30 games later, it was happy days in the moderate northern may sunshine as Sunderland finished the season top of the Championship with a very respectable 88pts. Well done Sunderland, Fair play to you and no-one else.

Fast forward to the 2007/08 season, on this very day Crystal Palace were 23rd in the Championship on a rather meagre 14pts. Watford however were sitting high and mighty 8 pts clear at the top of the Championship. If you had suggested, that 6 months later Crystal Palace would end up finishing a point above Watford that season in 5th place, I for one would've called you a bellend and avoided all future footballing discussions with you. *

In Early November 2009/10 (this isn't an incredibly exciting one) Reading were 22nd with 14pts. They finished that season 9th, a mere 6pts off the play offs. It's not that rock and roll, but I'm sure nobody here would turn their noses up at that finish. Southampton had a very similar season that year in League One. 22nd on 12pts, 2pts away from safety in early November - Ended up 7th, 6pts away from the Playoffs. Nice.

And these are just the extreme cases. Let alone the number of clubs who seemed destined to fester at the bottom of the table only to secure safe but mediocre mid-table finishes.

Moral of the story: It's not all *****d quite yet. COYR.

* Palace's playoff campaign ended with a 2-1 defeat at Ashton Gate. Baah. **** you Palace.

Appreciate what your saying, trouble is, on the down side, they all started with more points than us!
