bearded_red
Really happy for him, hope he gets some game time and isn't there to purely to make up the numbers. Unfortunately it is probably a bit of a kick in the teeth for our hopes of staying up though.
!james
Tournament runs from 19th Jan to 10th Feb with players usually leaving in early Jan for training camp. We may have to ask for permission for Albert to leave after the Blackburn FA Cup game but he will definitely miss 3 games in Jan and potentially 2 in Feb depending how far Ghana progress. Step up Anderson...
Slacker
Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place! Will be a big loss to us at a crucial time but can't begrudge Albert his opportunity.Hope he gets some good game time and makes the most of it. Nogbad the Bad
Good for Albert, and that could be enough to put off potential suitors, well until the end of the season at least. Big blow to us in the short term though - even if Anderson does 'step up' he'd have to make an incredible immediate impact to make up for us being without our best player for so long. Kibs
McInnes will probably move Baldock on to the wing and leave Anderson on the bench!! Seriously though, great for Albert, should add an extra few quid onto his price tag too....

Monkeh
that will put another million in on the price tag, how about giving wes Burns a try out on the wing for cover, (off the bench at least), Good thing we signed a winger in the summer isn't it,
Cider Queen
I believe he's only been called up for the provisional squad, which will then cut from 36 to 24! Part of me wants him to get in the squad and part of me doesn't!
glynriley
Wes Burns is a Striker isnt he? What is this general obsession of our fans of putting strikers on the wing? Some want Davies Out their, yet many of the same people moan when Stead, and Pitman have ended up there in the past. As for ACON, if he goes, he goes. We may have to start playing properly. It may actually be a good thiing as we wont be reliant on him to do everything! According to djb6162 on the Wes Burns thread , he plays RW / ST. Something tells me he would know. the frampton balti
Yannick Bolaise has confirmed he will not go to the cup of nations if called up for congo. Having far too good a time in south london! Im not knocking albert because i think to play for ghana and perhaps even come back with an acn winners medal is an amazing opportunity. club versus country depends on the club and the country. I dont think its an easy decision particularly as he may well end up being a bench warmer. Personally i would rather him in the england squad.... he is a lambeth boy after all! cider-manc
Well done Albert!... If he does make the final squad it will probably be enough to put off any clubs sniffing around in January and some game time would up the price tag. Monkeh
fair enough, the 2nd point stands though.. Why are we so obsessed in general with the strikers on the wing like who? Davies? who is a left winger/striker by trade who spent most of his time at derby on the left wing and up front?
