The way I see it, is that Danny Wilson was due to start today, so McInnes was gonna go 3 at the back with Bates, McManus and Wilson. Fontaine was dropped. Thus, McInnes decided on Thursday that Skuse would be the Captain for the day. D Wilson got himself injured, so Fonts was called in to start. Skuse was already called as skipper for the week so took the armband, with McManus the Vice Captain for the day. When Skuse was subbed, McManus took over. Now let him rebuild his confidence without any distractions which probably means from the bench and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Can't really say that one performance can change the way things have gone over the past few months.
