Id Cards

What do people think about them?

There was a lot of objection to them when the Gov was trying to push it, big brother, 1984, privacy rights etc. Rightly so in many respects, It seems a long time ago now, but have they got round it?, maybe, unbeknown to them back then technology has moved on faster than they probably imagined.

I think they don't need us to have ID cards now, we ID ourself to them voluntarily everyday.

With FB and Twitter, Mobile phones and GPS (which back then was for cargo ships and the military mostly) everyone has a camera now too, add few the government has planted and we are tracked pretty much 24/7 so prosecutable is so many more ways, OK well thats good, get the bad guys right? Well wrong i hope, on so many levels which i cba to go into.

So when you goto Tesco and use your clubcard, just think of that as evidence, they have prosecuted people for tax evasion based on their clubcards history. Same with Fb and Twitter, And using a cash point, making a gas payment, using forums forums, blogs. Watching, TV even, they have as evidence.

Idiots and the easily lead should not be jailed for trolling the lemmings on fb or twitter, although some very much are deserving of it like that scum bag in screechs thread, inciting terror and supporting Jihad, that I'm afraid crosses the line and far into national security.

The Internet is a game changer, Right now privacy is non exsitant and the government(s) are quite happy to use it against you, in 1995 we about had the internet, but we innoway had the software, hardware or the time to exploit it like we have now. Its dangerous now and we dont have a handle on it, at all. suddenly the world is open and everyone can see everyone else, and they're ideas too. Cue Arab spring, and years of oppression/repression in other non democracy's suddenly realising others have it different . Good or bad?

I guess, talking about privacy we maybe should look into our rights again, and what it means, privacy rights cover surveillance yes? Not only do i not want that I don't want media influx, that is privacy rights yes, invading my life? IDK...

It would be nice to have a 3 tier system for all media, TV radio, Post, Internet and anything else containing useless or irrelivent data and info I dont want or need

RED. No media, at all No ads TV, no mail no nothing. just bills or preselected media. (inb4 media pays for the programmes *crys*) Sorry they dont give a shit, they just voted RED.

YELLOW. Some media, verified as not spam or porn or anything gory like news reports containg reports about war, people dieing, really bad stuff that happens that i dont want to know about.

GREEN. Lets go, give me at all, I don't care i want to be as informed as possible, even if it is 90% shit.

A good start\? I would be Yellow, mostly because i dont want to be patronised by media or see gun massacres everyday in some place ive never heard of before.. thanks for the nice associated im making about all this negative stuff.

Well sorry to go on, Jesus, i only ment to say We 'practically' have ID cards in todays age, or as good as, if not better than what the gov thought of in 1995 maybe?

And is that OK? Is the media mostly a load of shit and you want to opt out of the vast majority and get on with the more important things is this short life. maybe a tad to convenient, do I smell a conspiracy stealth id cards? Sneaky little Gov.
