various sources are reporting the news that Emma Mincher, who played for Blackburn Rovers women's team, has died at just 21.

the following is on a Vital Football's Blackburn Rovers site: http://www.blackburn.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=309907

It's a sad day when we lose anyone from the Blackburn Rovers family, however to lose a brave young lady at the tender age of 21 really puts things in perspective.

Emma (McDougall) Mincher today lost her long fighting battle against cancer. The cancer was a reoccurrence of the condition she bravely overcame at the age of 18. Emma leaves behind her loving husband and 2 children.

Emma joined Blackburn Rovers in 2008, making her debut in a 17-0 Lancashire Cup Tie victory. She managed to make 3 appearances for the Ladies top flight team in 2007/08 before making 20 appearances in 2008/09.

From all of us here at Vital Blackburn, we send our condolences to Stefan (Husband), children, friends and all family.

A member of her family is running the Greater Manchester Marathon 2013 on 28/04/2013 on behalf of Cancer Research.

I know these are tough times - but helping the fella reach his fundraising target might take some of the sting out of this awful event.

Always sad when someone loses their life when so young.

As well as the links above, I'm sure there are people associated with Bristol City who are currently fundraising?

I raised money in January for Cancer Research through the Dryathalon (try watching City sober).

RIP
