Spud55
What actually happened to the Bristol City ladies team that was around a few years back? SL pulled the plug in the whole thing because we were trying to build a decent structure in the youth levels and were being completely tossed about by the women's FA (who are even more incompetent than the men's FA) The girls teams were being intergrated with the academy, using the same facilities and some of the coaching staff as well. The problem was that the local teams were all garbage, the teams would regularly win 15-0 and the like so the lack of competitive games was a big issue. At the time there was a London girls league, which arsenal and other clubs played in, this league had an odd number of teams so every week one team couldn't play. So city went to the women's FA to join this league, the other teams wanted us to join and it made sense, as we needed to gain some prestige as if you are an England player joining us at the time meant you wouldn't get picked, on girl who joined when city got to the women's premiership was an England regular, but didn't get picked once while with us, yet the second she left suddenly got a call up. The women's FA blocked us joining the league and generally pissed the club about, even Trevor brooking had meetings with parents of the girls and tried to exert some influence on the women's FA to stop being so bloody stupid, but it didn't work so eventually the club and SL pulled the plug. sglosbcfc
It's not City girls though is it?? If anything it's more Rovers as that's who they were originally was it not? Owned by Steve Lansdown, they wear red and white and they have Bristol City on the front of their shirts mmmmmm not sure too many Sags will dispute they are ours. One final thought, if they were Rovers ladies surely they would be in Division Four!

Eco
Could be a league & cup double. Saw them at the 'Stoke Gifford Stadium', enjoyed it, plenty of room to watch, good pitch and the girls do like to get stuck in. Shame their crowds aren't higher but I suppose that'll come in time.
