bucksred
Today 60 years ago, Rome fell to the allies after the vicious battle for Monte Cassino, and on Sunday, its the 60th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe-D Day. Some of your fathers/grandfathers/great-grandfathers may have fought, and indeed they may have fallen there. Please spare the time to think about their sacrifice then, and go up to any of the old veterans, and thank them for their sacrifices. Had they not made them, none of us would be doing what we are doing today. Others have made the ultimate sacrifice since then, and still do today. My Father was one of the hundreds of thousands who were there, and he was one of those who came back alive, and well in body and mind. Many, Many others did not, and lie in a tranquil corner of some foreign field. Never, ever forget these sacrifices by those guys, some of which, like us were City (or Rovers) supporters. It puts all our minor problems today, in a little more perspective. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
