Bedminster Born And Red
Just to let you know that a new Goalkeeper Coach has been appointed at City. My son has just spoken to him but won't say who it is until the club announce it so I don't get him into trouble. But he did say that the club might be looking to get a COUPLE of keepers in but probably not in time for Botswana.

Monkeh
City are due to announce a player signing later today for the development squad, could be a keeper - but that doesn't alleviate the need for a first teamer. unless Pat Cash is the next Tim Howard of course
bcfcchris2016
Our new goalkeeping coach must have the easiest job in the UK, there's no goalkeepers for him to coach (apart from Castanheira)
Opeth67
How can we afford a coach just for goalkeepers? The whole team should travel in the same coach.
redsontour
How can we afford a coach just for goalkeepers? The whole team should travel in the same coach. Hmm, goalkeepers are renowned for being very tall, perhaps there was a capacity issue and they have one of those diddy Blue Iris ones with only the back seats in? surreyred
I was hoping we could get two jobs out of one salary and find an experienced keeper coming to the end of his playing carrier, but could still act as a reserve keeper, but main job as coach for a younger first team keeper. I can tell you it will be a specialist keeper coach. Working out his notice at another club so could be why no announcement made yet.

Kid in the Riot
Heard a rumour today from a supporter of the dark side that SoD is interested in signing Steve Mildenhall. Make of that what you will...
redpole
I'm going for Gerry Peyton, arsenal looking for a new goalkeeper coach so he might want to move on and he knew SoD from Bournemouth.

Really looking forward to it. #ccfc #bcfc Looking online seems to be the Cardiff youth goalkeeper coach Seeing as it appears to be common knowledge now I can confirm you are correct. Lee is currently Head Academy GK Coach at Cardiff City. He has coached my Grandson a few times this season and did his end of season review but mainly looked after the older Keepers. My Son tells me that one thing he did do with the younger keepers was transform the Coaching they received and he had even bigger plans in place to improve the coaching further next season until City came knocking on his door. He's a young Coach, still in his thirties, but has the UEFA A License and in terms of his track record he worked with John Pemberton at the Sheffield United Academy and was responsible for coaching George Long the keeper who got in their first team at 17 years of age. Apparently both Pemberton and Tom Heaton recommended him to the club.
redsontour
I know nothing about him, however, a 30 something UEFA A licenced specialist is exactly what we should be doing. Delighted. Playing credentials are irrelivent. Coaching credentials are everything. I still scratch my head at the last goalkeeping coach, whatever his playing record. Admin Ian M Posted May 24, 2013 Admin Report Share Posted May 24, 2013 Looking around it seems that everyone who has had contact with LK only has good things to say about him and being closer to the start of his coaching career and having previously only held academy positions is probably cheaper than our previous more high profile incumbent. Potentially good move by the club.
