These stats are useless!

They don’t mention that City is one of only 4 (?) clubs in league 1 to win the Welsh Cup (in 1934).

And who could forget City beating St Mirren 3-2 in 1978 in the Anglo Scottish Cup? No other league 1 clubs can claim this success. (Actually, it doesn’t remain in my memory at all)

Reminds me of an AFC Wimbledon chant.. ''We won it one time, we won it one time..!! The Combined Southern Counties.. we won it one time...!!!''

Does it matter?

Not really, tbf. Just I think there's a perception that we're a relatively large fish for the size of the pool so it was beneficial adding some weight to it. Notice, barring maybe Sheff U, all the clubs at the top have been financially inept over recent years.

I've got a feeling we're gonna make top six, at least. What do you think?

The four top clubs fanbase wise (at the moment, not over time) in that league are sheff u, wolves, us and Bradford. I would have thought all of those will be in the top half of the league at least next year. Although history is irrelevant to winning promotion, just look at little old Yeovil!

I think wolves will do well personally, they will be on parachute payments and have by far the most pulling power to get decent players at that level. Agreed on us though, season of transition, depends who we get in though you never know. Bradford have got the momentum now to do well, if they can keep hold of wells and that other big bloke up front they will be a force. I think Sheffield united will have a slump and finish outside the top 6 after losing the playoffs two years running.

Correct. We at the only team in to have been FA cup runners up and not won the cup.

We are also not te only team to finish second in the league.

Wolves have also done the above.

Some nice stats though Lew

Nice one. I just took a chance on that being right, wasn't far off!

This just made me feel sorry for Wolves fans.

Oh and a warm and hearty congratulations on being sixth biggest club in the division.

On having the most roundabouts per head, on achieving 100 goals conceded in your only top flight campaign, on having uncovered seating as an away end (even R*vers managed a marquee signing for theirs), on having marginally more if equally depressing 'character' as a town than Reading or Milton Keynes, on having a City ex-girlfriend who presumably came to her senses.... I congratulate you, too. Did I even mention Glenn Hoddle, Swindlegate or number of administrations?

:)

I'd have the same opinion if a Swindon fan clutched this many straws. It's division 3, we're all in it together.
