What £1 Can Buy

I bet players are sold for a quid quite often. When a player goes for free whilst still in contract, im sure atleast a quid has to change hands. Could be wrong as ive never got involved in contract law. In fact, you always hear companies change hands for a quid.

Correct, a contract is not valid without some form of consideration.

Consideration may be assuming the liabilities of another. This could be taking over the wages remaining on a contract

It’s not just what you pay, it’s what you get for the money that counts.

A few years ago BMW sold what was the then MG Rover group to a private consortium for £1 (?) and gave them a few millions pound to keep them going. There are lots of examples of businesses etc sold for next to nothing / given away.

There is always a reason. Always remember – if it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
