Tauntonian
Somerset have copied Cornwall and Devon in creating a county flag. apart from the dragon being a bit welsh, its not too bad i suppose.
Red-Robbo
The Wyvern - not a dragon - has been Somerset's county symbol for yonks. I always fly one at Glastonbury Festival and it has been prominent in television coverage - once even making it on stage during The Who! You can buy them here http://www.theflagshop.co.uk/somerset-county-flag-29-p.asp PS: I have no financial interest in this company.

The flag on that website is the unofficial one, the one I posted is the new official one that was chosen yesterday...

I wonder why they didnt just use the "unofficial" one, seeing as everyone knew it.
Tauntonian
I wonder why they didnt just use the "unofficial" one, seeing as everyone knew it. It has something to do with the symbol on it being owned by the county council, so is not allowed for public use. bit stupid really as the new one is similar. Robin101
HANG ON. Somerset is supposed to be represented by a Wyvern. A Wyvern is "legendary winged creature with a dragon's head, reptilian body, two legs (sometimes none), and a barbed tail". That thing has 4 legs. i.e. a dragon. Tut.
